*La flora ha una notevole influenza sulla massima lunghezza che un erogatore elettrico riesce a raggiungere sulla recinzione.
Più vegetazione comporta più carica accumulata sul recinto, diminuendone così la portata.
Le indicazioni sulla lunghezza della recinzione si riferiscono a meteriale (fili e connettori) con ottima conduzione, buoni isolatori, un sistema di messa a terra ottimale e scarsa vegetazione al suolo.
MESSA A TERRA
Per il corretto funzionamento dell'elettrificatore è necessario acquistare a parte il picchetto per la messa a terra.
La messa a terra fa in modo che la corrente possa ritornare all'elettrificatore quando un animale e/o l'erba entra a contatto con la recinzione. Non disporre di un sistema di messa a terra comporta l'assenza di corrente all'estremità della recinzione, quindi si tratta di un elemento indispensabile per creare un circuito elettrico adeguato.
Senza un adeguato sistema di messa a terra, l'elettrificatore non funziona correttamente. Usare sempre picchetti di messa a terra galvanizzati, scegliendo tra i seguenti modelli in funzione del tipo di alimentazione che si utilizzerà per alimentare l'elettrificatore:
